Is the 7th the LAST??

i saw an interview with jk rowling on t.v. when she said that she had just begun writing the 7th book. in that interview, she said that this would be the end of the harry potter books, as she wants to get into writing books for adults. she said that though she loved the harry potter series, and loved the fact that so many people liked them, she wanted to try something different. there has to be an end to all good things i am afraid, but at least she gave us all warning, and she didn't just leave everyone guessing :)

I hope it isn't but I have read and heard that it is. it's really sad to me actully. I have looked forward to every year to reading the new harry Potter books and also seeing the newest movie. Maybe if she doesn't someone else will write extra books on this series.

I am pretty sure this is the last Harry Potter book. I for one, can't wait for it to come out. I have already decided I am going to make sure my house is completely spotless before that day and I am going to do nothing but read that book from cover to cover. All of the books in the series were wonderful and I am also sad to see the story ending but I hope this will give her the opportunity to start a new series.

Yeah, JKR did say that this would be the last. Sad to say. I'm sure others will try to imitate the concept at some point, but I don't think any will compare to the original. Hopefully The Deathly Hallows will be very lengthy...and tie up all the loose ends. Where it goes from there will be left to our imaginations, and hopefully fan fiction. I ahve been quite impressed with the fan fic I have read. Some have taken small side characters and storylines and expanded them quite well. But, we still have 3 more movies to watch....I can't wait to see Phoenix in July. All this waiting and then both a book and a movie in the same month!!

I am pretty sure that this is going to be the last HP book. Although the series is quite fascinating, all good things in life come to an end. But, then I see a lot of story books coming from other authors on the series at a later point in time which will start the decline of the series. Cheers! Ram

It has been said for quite a long time that Book 7 will be the last book. I'm going to try to read the first six again before it's released. There are only 59 days left until the Harry Potter series ends~! I have to hurry and read more!

No,bcoz JK has changed the story by killing of two main characters and not Harry Potter. Now she will write the 8th series in which Harry Potter will die.

yeah. I saw the Today show a couple weeks ago and they had the author on there. They said on the show this would be the last.

Yes, this would be the last of the series and 2 characters are supposed to die in this part. All good things come to an end, so it might be good to end it here. But, it is really a wonderful fantasy series.
