This is the time to pay tribute or at least acknowledge the teachers who really made a strong impact in your life and tell us why you regard him/her as your best teacher.

I had two teachers who were monumental in my studies. My third grade teacher, Mr. Johnny Skinner, was awesome. Not only did he care about me as a student, he made a point to remain active in my life throughout elementary school and beyond. It was easy for me to go to him even after I was out of his class and had moved on to just ask for advice or talk to him about life. Then there was Mr. John Marshall, my 6th grade history/P.E. teacher. He helped me realize a profound interest in history and cultivate it; I probably would have never minored in ancient history in college if it wasn't for him. Also, he taught me to look outside the normal parameters for answers, to dig deeper and not settle for surface explanations.

Thanks for your response. I am a firm believer that some of our teachers really helped us a lot especially in character formation. =)

I have had a lot of teachers I liked and I still do. I like many of my college professors very much, but my best teacher would have to be my high school art teacher, Mr. Derby! He was my art teacher for four years, and my friends and I were a group of people who would always hang out in the art room in our spare time. He is kind of a weird guy, and he didn't talk to students much except the people he really liked. He's also very intelligent and unique, and is part of a crazy band. He's also one of those teachers that lets students get away with a lot as long as he doesn't think they are bothering anyone, especially him. I skipped so many classes (like gym and math class) to be in the art room and he never yelled at me. He made art class so much fun in his own, strange way and he inspired me to work harder on my artwork. I hope I can take his place as art teacher one day!

The Math course I'm currently taking is quite a challenge and being dyslexic hasn't made it any easier. My teacher knows about it and the other things that are throwing balls of stress my way. She's gone above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I understand things and make sure I'm okay with everything else that's going on. The class ends June 30th and I'll REALLY miss having her as a teacher.
