As you guys know I am learning to swim and can finally breath as I swim...... lol.... till yesterday I used to cross the breadth of the Pool in a single breadth....... but, this morning I could breath while I swam. I am doing the 4 arm pull - breath style in the "Freestyle". My coach tells me thats one of the easiest ways to swim....... and tells that I should gradually change over to the 3 arm pull - breath technique....... or I might loose my balance as I swim. I want to learn the Breast Stroke and the Back Stroke too.......:)....... But, will avoid the Butterfly Stork as my coach has adviced me not to do it....... (back problem). So....... how do you guys swim.........which style.....:)

When i swim I just swim under water. I never really do any of the 'special' swimming strokes.

I can swim any style and for a long time. the style is not so important. It is important to learn to float on the back to save energy when one is exhaused. this way one can cross big lakes. what else is important is to have fun. I learned to swim when I was a little kid. It was fun to jump into the water in different ways and swim in different styles. Or to participate in ballgames or other games in the water. And I did learn to dive, too. This all makes me "unsinkable".

I can swim in freestyle, my parents teach me when I was a kid. I have swimming pool in parent's old house (now sold) and was almost everyday I swim. I like swimming, it makes me fresh whenever I finish swimming.

I do DOG PADDLE!!! LOL. I also swim side stroke. I'm not a strong swimmer and side stroke is the most comfortable for me as I have bad knees. I rarely swim now as pools cause me to have ear infections and swimming in the sea scares me a bit. The waves can knock your feet out from under you so easily.

In my younger days I used to swim freestyle and sometimes on my back, but I never was able to put my face in the water or open my eyes in the water. Now I basically swim like a rock...:}

Oh this is so embarrassing, but I don't how to swim. I could float yeah but I can't do any of those you mentioned. Swimming is part of my school curriculum when I was in high school and all those years, I've never learned how to swim. I even took swimming lessons when I was in college in attempt to learn swimming but I just didn't learn. I'm glad that you learned, sad for me:(.

I can't swim at all. I never learned how. When I was younger my dad dropped me in the deep end of the pool and was afraid to get in to help me. My mom pulled me out but now if water goes anywhere my head then I totally freak out. I wish I had learned how to swim but just can't get water past my neck without panicking. My dad is worse. If water goes above his knees he freaks out.

Actually I can swim these four different stokes in swimming.But the one that I am most used to is the freestyle.For one reason it is very enjoyable and less straining stroke.
