I do like the series and movie. It has a decent story even though from the mid story its not the same with the manga. But the story still great and have alot of surprise factor in it. Definitely one of the best anime that time.

I did enjoy the movie but I was sad that they decided to give up alchemy and live in our world. My favorite scene was when Al came onto the scene in the beginning and I thought that it was Ed and he was back in their world. I just enjoyed seeing that he grew up to be just like his brother and he was doing well in his actually body. I also liked the scene when his brother's soul came back through the armor though the gate. I guess I like all the mushy scenes since it ties up and ends the series.

I really like the movie alot when in the beginning we see alphonse became very strong and in the flesh and bone not like the old metallic armor (LOL) as we see him becoming much stronger like his brother like being able to manipulate the armor and control it within his consciousness.

For how the anime went, I think that the movie fits well with it. Even if I still prefer the manga, I think that anime + movie is a great combination. I'm so sad that Alfons Heiderich didn't have that big part, 'cause I think that he could be a really great character, but this is how the productors wanted the movie to develop. I really like the start, vwith the Roman with sing and dance, and the part where Edo returns t Munich, with Alphonse which cry "Niisan, niisan!" It's really a great movie,.

The movie was a pleasant surprise in that it actually came out at all - I don't think many people were expecting a movie to come out of it especially so long after the series aired. Personally I thought that the movie was good overall. It serves as a direct extension of the end of the FMA series, which I thought was superb. It does a very good job in particular of concluding the storylines involving the homunculi. The 1920s Munich backdrop I thought was interesting. I'll leave out details of the end of the anime and of scenes from the movie so that I don't spoil it for anyone. But if you want to hear a very good analysis of both the movie and of the series, I reccomend an unofficial podcast called "Annotated Alchemist" that I discovered a few months ago, in which there is 25 minutes worth of recap and analyzation for each episode (up to episode 26 so far), and a special longer look at the movie.
