Cartoons Charactors Under Copyright

I have a pen-pal in prison who is an excellent artist. I told him that I like Tweety Bird and he sends me one of a kind drawings of Tweety. While I know that Tweety Birds image is under copyright with Warner Brothers, Is it illegal for someone to sale a one of a kind drawing on a website like e-bay or something like that. Does anyone have any information on this?

Yes, it's illegal to sell. It's actually already illegal to distribute at all, you're only allowed to use for personal usage. But is Tweety bird really still under copyright? Didn't the lot of the loony tunes stuff fall under public domain?
