My kids and grandkids have come up with some funny words and expressions as they learned to talk. memby for memory ehooze (pronouned e huz) for shoes zedert (za dirt) for dessert basketti (buh sketty) spaghetti One of my grandkids is named M'keely. My other grandkid called her Buhkeely. We tried to correct her emphasizing the M. "MUH Keely, MUH MUH, MMMMM MUH," we would say and she would repeat, "MMMM MMMM MMMM Buhkeely!" Did/do your little ones have any special words they use while learning proper English?

Ah, those are cute! Let's see, I'll mix all the kids in together as the phrases come to me. Grilz was for girls. Jewz was for Juice. One would get all bent out of shape and announce, 'good luck, grilz! I'm weebin!' and then storm off to his room. Leedle-lee was for laundry. ANother substitued Y's for Z's, so if we were telling Zachary we were youing to the zoo, It was Yackary, we're going to the Yoo!

For the first 3 years of my youngest daughters life a dog was a ARF ARF and a cow was a moocowstinkybutt. All thanks to my oldest daughter, there are 6 years between them. Busketty was always a popular word at our house. On of my nieces calls milk ooce (think juice) and juice is sweet.
