How do you add images to discussions?

I know that when you start a discussion there's a link on the lefthand, bottom corner, that you can click on to upload an image but if you want to unload an image when you're commenting on a discussion posted by someone else then how do you do it? Or is that just not possible?

Your question is quite relevant. I have wondered, too, how to upload an image when contributing to a discussion started by another member. I stumbled on the facility some time ago, but I cannot remember what I did to bring it about. I hope to benefit from the answer to your question as well.
