I'm not really that into the Sisters of Mercy, mainly because I really only know "Lucretia, My Reflection." I have a few more of their songs, from compilation CDs, but they don't stick out in my head.
Type O Negative, on the other hand, is one of my favorite bands. I have seen them play live twice, and my license plate is currently "PYRETA 1." (I am not looking forward to having to change my license plate, since we moved to a new state!)
"Black No. 1" is my favorite Type O Negative song, but I really love their cover of "Cinnamon Girl." And, of course, "Pyretta Blaze" is another favorite. :) I haven't really gotten into their new CD yet, but their current tour is great--they play a lot of older stuff, and not so much from the new CD!

Marian from the Sisters of Mercy, in my opinion defines second wave goth in the 80's. I like most of their songs. They have a cover of Hot Chocolate's Emma which is cool, but isn't found in any of their albums and is hard to find.
Type o negative was influenced by the Sisters of mercy as well. Black no.1 pretty much made the band popular and in my opinion is one of their best songs.
