Have you ever thought about the stereotypes and the standarts for one woman? Do you think that there is a difference between woman, real woman and lady? If yes, notice here what one woman must not do if she wants to be treated as lady? She must not...smoke? One lady does not smoke. Continue...:-)

I don't know what you are taking about, what does smoking have to do with anything? you just had a discussion where you said you did not believe in people making moral judgments and that is what you are asking right here, if a woman is a lady if she smokes or not is a moral judgment.

i understand if it looks like i am contradicting myself, but i am not,i think i worded my view incorrectly.I was just using examples of how one can be judged,i was referring to others and not myself.I myself do not care whether a woman smokes or not.what i meant to say is that everyone's views are different and that whether you smoke or not is something that can a woman can be judged upon, not saying that i myself do it. i apologise for this.

I think a lady is a woman who lets herself be treated as a lady. Let the guys open the doors for you and let you walk in first when going someplace. We've gotten caught up in we can everything a man can do, and well we usually can, but we shouldn't let them know it, if we want to be treated as a lady.

I think every woman deserves to be treated with a respect regardless of her bad habits. She's a human being and deserves that much.

my elders would say that the difference between a lady and a woman is class for unlike breeding, it cannot be taught. yes i smoke, i curse and i drink - inspite all these "unlady-like" traits i like to believe i have more respect for other people than those who claim to be "ladies". i dun mean to start a heated discussion, everyone's simply airing their opinion. i say "LABEL BOTTLES, NOT PEOPLE".

I am a lady coz i dont smoke.......hehehe A woman who doesnt drink is a lady. A woman who loves and respects her better half is a lady. A woman who respects her religion is a lady. A woman who takes care of her children is a lady. I hope all these lines describes a lady. If not, do let me know......

There is no 'wrong' and 'right' way to act for a woman,or even a man.I think it's unfair that if a woman acts a bit butch, she's called a lesbian and if a man is slightly effeminate he's labelled gay.Everyone is going to act in a way that is comfortable for them.On the contrary, there are many things that women do which men can find unattractive and unladylike-such as smoking, having a dirty sense of humour and showing too much flesh.these women are still women, they just arent comfortable with acting in a stereotypical 'girly' manner. If a lady wishes to be treated like one however, she probably isnt going to get much respect if she is constantly burping and belching like a lad,for example.I guess when one thinks of the term 'lady' they think of a glamorous, very feminine and sophisticated type, but this is just a variation of WOMAN-plural WOMEN of which i'm sure we all would like to be referred to,however we dress or act. i'ts not fair to seperate lady from woman,or 'real' woman. It's absurd. We each have our preferences and for everyone who doesnt like a butch woman there will be someone else who does.some of us like to smoke,so this cannot be labelled 'unladylike' simply because the majority of men today think it is unattractive for a woman to smoke. If wer'e female, wer'e a woman.that's it.We should accept others for who they are.I'm not a 'lady' by ny means, but i'm still adored and can turn on the feminine charm whenever i want! xx
