When is the best time to do it? When do you do your watering? Do you water daily if it has been dry?

here as we have a draught we have to water early morning and not after 11 AM. Which is always good to water early for the heat take the moisture out if you water later in the day . And here I can only water 3 days a week. So when I have from Sat till Tue I call myself irrigating which I put water on for awhile and run it to get ground real wet and hope it stays like that till I can water again!

The best watering time is in the morning before 8 a.m or afternoon after 3 p.m. But, the most important thing to give your plant water is your plant need. Do they need water every day? Give them water as much as they need. Thanks.

yes indeed watering has to be done according to the requirement of the plant, if it is dry, one has to water daily, otherwise the plants will wilt and if you are asking for the best time of the day you can water your plants either in the morning or in the evening, but never in the afternoon as during this time of the day, the temperature is high and water loss from plants is high due to transpiration, so if you will water them in the evening they will recover from temporary wilting that occurs during noon time.

I usually water my vegetable garden first thing in the morning. I turn the sprinkler on for at least 1/2 an hour--depending on the last rain. I will do this about every other day when the weather is hot and dry. more often if it's hotter.

I have always heard that you should water in the mornings before it gets to hot out. Other wise it can burn up the leaves and such on your plants.I water whenever I feel the soil needs it.

I always water my plants in the evening when the sun is going down. They have the cooler hours of the day to absorb a good drink. If they are watered in the morning I think that they are steamed up by the water as it evaporates in the hot daytime sun. Thats just my thoughts. Never have really read anything which promotes either morning or evening watering. I do know the middle of the afternoon is a no no though.
