most of you here know that i have this long distance relaitonship with my boyfriend. i am from the philippines and he's from sweden. and just last april, i applied and was interviewed for a resident's permit... for others, it's a fiancee visa.
then, just today, my boyfriend called me saying that my visa's already approved and that i can go to sweden and be with him as early as june! we thought that the earliest time we could get the visa is by october. and so, i am glad that it's early and quick!
i am just so happy and excited!

YEY for you! LOL. I wish I could get a visa but I'm just too lazy to even apply for a passport. LOL.
Now you can be together. I'm so envious. Well, the only thing exciting that happened to me was when I passed by Board exams.
I'm waiting for some other exciting moments...like when my boyfriend decides to finally propose to me...if ever that will happen.

haha. if that's the case, you really are lazy. passports are too quick to apply. hehe. maybe one day when you finally get the determination to do so, you can do it and you'll be surprised you ever did it.
as for me, i did it for just some months. and i am glad my visa was approved real quick.
as for you natalie, i know your boyfriend will propose marriage to you one day. you are a nice person as i know you here in myLot. just keep us updated!

Thanks. I sure hope so. And don't worry, one day I just might get off my lazy a** and go get myself that passport. Right now though, that a** is stuck in a chair. LOL.

Maryanne I am so happy for you it must be a bit scary though for you to go and live and in a different Country
It is a big Step lol but I know you will be happy
My biggest moment was when I was able to move here to the South and be closer to my Boyfriend instead of being 3 hours away I am now 20 minutes away from him and I love it

Congrats to you both! This is an exciting moment for you. I remember when my husband was coming to the USA. The longest wait I had was the few hours he was at the airport waiting for the next flight. 5 hours! I paced the floor and waited for his call. We were so exhausted from the excitement of meeting one another that we slept like logs that night.

when my boyfriend first visited me here in the philippines last year, i was just like you. i can't just sit relaxed at the airport waiting for him. and well, soon, he'll be the one waiting for me at the airport. hehe.

well, believe it or not, my boyfriend who smokes for 17 years stopped smoking because of me, too. amazingly, he did it to surprise me. i did not ask him to stop. he was just determined to do so.

wow. wedding day. hehehe. whenever my boyfriend and i talk about it, i giggle a lot.
my boyfriend and i met on the internet, started out as friends through exchanging emails and later on, chatting. we developed friendship to love. he came over last year to meet me and we had our best two weeks together. and we're glad that we can finally be together forever.

wow!. congratulations marryanne!. at last, you are gonna be with your boyfriend and your gonna be truly happy. goodluck with your journey!. lols. i envy you.. i hope i can go outside this country too. well anyways.. one of the most excited moment in my life was when i reached the peak of mt. apo for the first time. it was really really breathtaking and awesome and very very exciting.. the energy surges through you, you will feel you are one with nature and you will really be awed by the view.. well its something that i really treasure because i am with my friends and i was being supported and prayed for by my family.. especially my mother whom i love very much.. anyways goodluck in sweden!. be happy!.

Congratulations to you. I know how that feels. My wife was from a different country as well and I have to go through all those formalities and red tapes before we can get married and before I could bring her over to live with me at my country. However, she have to wait at least 5 years before she is eligible for a permanent residence status. It's a hassle but then love conquers all.

i was in your shoes a year ago when im anxiously waiting for my visa (family reunion visa)to be approve, i could say fiancee visa is a lot more quicker than my kind of visa as it tooks us more than six months in waiting, but its worth the wait when my visa finally approved. me and my husband both cried in happiness. anyway congrats maryanne, you'll be in another chapter of your life soon!

actually, the visa i got isn't a fiancee visa. it's just what people are familiar of. but it's really a resident's permit and a working permit. and just like you, i will have to study their language, too. i have started the studies while here in the families already. and i admit, it's really difficult to study another language! grrrrrr....

i think it differs from country to country. the immigrant officer told my boyfriend when they called him last monday that our case was the quickest one they approved. or maybe, i was just lucky. hehe.
i was interviewed last april 16 and was approved yesterday, may 23. so basically, it was just a matter of one month and some days.
i hope things will work out for you, too and that your husband can be with you soon as well. i know how you feel. that's why i always hope that one day, you'll start a discussion like mine saying that your husband's visa to be with you has finally been approved, too. hehe.
