Did You Like the Contest Winning Song?

Hello,
I am very curious as to whether or not you liked the song that was sung by the two finalists written by those undiscovered writers. I personally didn't think it was a great song; nor did I like either Blake or Jordin singing it (although Jordin was a bit better). I kinda feel as though the song, "This is My Now," wasn't really suited for either of them and they had to struggle through it. Jordin did very well with the song, but I thought that it was not in Blake's wheelhouse at all and he was obviously frustrated.
What did you think about the song? Did you like it? Did you hate it? Why?

I thought the song was very nice, and I agree it didn't really fit with them since they are both so young and have not gone through much but I did like the concept. It was along the same lines as I believe that Fantasia did. I did like the way Jordin sang it more than Blake, if she was a little older she could probably make it a hit.

I think that was the main thing for me, I thought that they should have shown their own personalities, especially with the final song. If you make them sing a contest song, it shouldn't be the last one, the one that leaves the impression on people. It was an older song for two young souls...

The lyrics were okay. The song struck me as the typical overdone and cliche song that is usually overplayed on the radio. =P

Totally cliche, and it was too "perfect" for the finale as a winning song. But it could have been worse, I guess...

I thought the song was terrible and I hope it didn't cost Blake the title- I am rooting for Blake all the way until they announce the winner in 1 hour! I wondered who wrote that song- Is was terrible! Sure Jordin did a better job- but it wasn't anything that Blake could have sung or beatboxed to!

I was really pulling for Blake, too. But I think he'd be better off as a producer. He's got the music-mixing talents and the ability to go far with it. I thought his performance with Doug E Fresh in the results show was the best performance of the season, let alone the night. We'll have to see... I think that final song did cost him some precious votes. It's too bad, but he'll be okay even though he won't have the title of "American Idol."

i didnt like it, but i didnt hate it either. the lyrics is okay its meant for a american idol contestant trying to find a spot, a winning spot. but i think the melody or the tone is meant for a lady because blake was really struggling and not having a great time with it. blake gave the best he had but still wasnt convident on singing the song. and was is so sad is the voters are going to base the winning person in all the performances.

I think if someone else had sung it, the song wouldn't have been so bad for me. I really just think that the lyrics were good, but the producers totally handcuffed both contestants for their final song. I really hope that didn't hurt him too much, although as Simon said tonight, "based on the final song, Jordin won" so we'll see...

I didn't really care for it much either. Jordin sang it better, but I agree it was not their cup of tea.

I think that a lot of people who were even on voting last night saw the last performance and really dialed into Jordin to win. It really wasn't for either of them, but credit to Jordin for still giving a good performance with it.

i could not STAND the contest winning song. It was boring, juvenile, and most of all amarturish. i don't know how it won. You would think it was written by a 13 year old kid, but no! It was written by a couple of grown men! Very disappointing...

I wasn't blown over by the song at all, however Jordin sang it very well. It didn't fit Blake at all.
It wasn't his style of music but she did a very good job.

I figured they chose it for the lyrics. This is my now. It was ok, but I didn't think Blake sung it that well. I think it was a hard song to sing. I thought Jordin was going to blow us away but it was ok for her also. I think she did do better than blake. But I think it was a hard song to sing.
