Do employers treat online degrees the same as regular college degrees?

Is it the same kind of thing, if you do it online vs.attending in person? And honestly do employers treat it the same? Would it depend on the job or degree? If I was to reall invest getting into an online degree course instead of working out ways to attend instead, will it be worth it, or wasted efforts?
