I am wondering how profitable it is to pursue freelance business writing? What projects are most profitable?

I would think that business writing could be quite profitable, precisely for the fact that we live in a world where people care about money-making, business, etc. You could write for the more profitable Fortune 500 companies or even local companies. There's always work for you...

I would think that business writing could indeed be very profitable. The catch is to find a market for your work. There are many sites like Associated Content that will pay you for articles that are submitted online. Another option would be to talk to your local newspapers and see if any of them are looking for freelance writers. You could also check with other local businesses to see if they might have some freelance work available. If you write for sites like Helium or Associated Content, you could add your published articles to your portfolio and resume as examples of your "published" work.

For this answer, it depends on the individual to judge but for me i feel that it is not as good as writing for blogs as they are willing to pay you more.
