Did you wait to get your driver's license?

In the area of Canada I live in, we have a program called graduated licensing where you have to go through 3 steps of driver's training before you get your actual driver's license. The day I turned 16, I got my learner's license, which entitles me to drive with a qualified (has had their license for 5+ years) driver between set hours of the day. After 6 months you can go in and do your next exam, which is a road test where you get your "new driver's" license, after a year your learner's license expires and has to be renewed. I renewed my learner's license 3 times for various reasons, and now I am 5 months from my 24th birthday and I'm going in to rewrite my learner's exam so that in the next year, I can get my new driver's license. A lot of people think that's odd, but honestly, I know a lot of people my age and slightly older who don't hold a license because it's cost prohibitive and easier to take transit. I didn't get mine because I didn't really care, it's just driving, and I wasn't even sure I was responsible enough to have that kind of power in my hands. The only reason I'm doing it now is because next year, my boyfriend would like to do a roadtrip and would like to share the driving instead of doing it all himself. Did anyone else wait?
