In search of greener pasture or make your pasture greener?

Two of our top sales people advised me that they will be going abroad in a month’s time and that they will be resigning. Though I am happy for them, I also feel sad that they have to go abroad and leave their family and that I would be losing 2 very good sales people. Both of them have very young children not more than 5 years old and I feel sad because they would be missing out on the experience of being with their children which is also a critical development stage. Though the intention is very good but still the time lost and time not spent with ones children could never come again. I am the Godmother of one of their children and I have asked them if they would consider going with me to some business opportunity forums and orientations because who knows, they might make something good out of it and they would find that there would be no need for them to go abroad. As for me, I have decided not to search for a greener pasture but rather, I would make my own pasture greener here because I don’t want to leave my children. As long as I am alive, healthy and have my all my senses with me, I could certainly make my current pasture much greener. How about you? Have you already gone searching for a greener pasture or your pasture is already green?

I believe that when people can do something to better themselves they should go for it if their family can go along. Nobody should stand in the way of anyone's advancement. I do agree that you are right though to make your own pasture greener as you have children to consider.

I believe in that too and that we should respect such decision. However, I still find it sad because sometimes it comes with a cost of not being with ones family. Thanks for responding!

I don't think I could leave my family either. I'd do like you and make my pasture greener where I am. I guess everybody has to do what they feel is the best thing in the situation they are in. I hope things work out good for them, I'm sure it was a hard decision they have had to make.

My pasture is already green and I am trying to make it more greener, but everyone does not get what he or she wants so they keep searching, once they will feel that their lives are at satisfactory stage, then may be they will stop at that place.
