Jack| Future Jack? Or no?

So the season finale centered around Jacks backstory again. Or is it really his backstory? Like in the end he and Kate meet up, and hes talking about the golden ticket they (Im assuming Oceanic Airlines) gave them when they returned. So does that mean the future? The one thing I picked up on, was when he was stealing Oxy out of the medical cabinet in the hospital, then the cheif of surgery finds him and they start arguing. Jack says something to the effect of "get my father down here, and if I'm drunker than he is you can fire me".... what the heck? What do you think the deal is?
