Keralites are highly literate people in India. The climatic condition is not conducive for any big industry. Keralites believe in collective bargaining so much so, that many industrialists fear oepening an industry in kerala, because of strong bargaining power of people. The union mentality is very high. Most keralites go abroad and send remittances back home. Strikes, lockouts and closure of small units are common there.

May be they should go for high-tech (IT Industry) so that the highly educated ones act responsibly and help Kerala achieve industrailisation.

While talking about the possibilities of industrialism of a state / country, we should take into consideration the geographical, social and various other aspects of the region. Kerala is a densely populated state in the western part of the country with very less free land ocmpared to other states of India. And we always compare teh industrial growth of Kerala to the neighbouring bigger states like Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh etc where the most important resource (land) is more available. Also the social scenario in Kerala will not allow the industrialists come and loot up the state as easily as in other states. The one place where the state can excel is IT sector. With the large no: of people being literate adn computer literacy also high, i think here, this state can grow to bigger heights without other natural resources like land..
