i am really starting to hate ford cars

i have a 96 ford turaus and i am really starting to hate it. the inside light came on and will not go off even when you turn the car off. ok i pulled the light problem solved. well then the fuel pump fuse keeps blowing so i hot wired the fuse problem solved. well the other night the car died when driving down the hwy. no reason no noise no nothing just died and refused to start again. it wont even make a trying niose. hubby keeps scratching his head at it. its not the battery, the alternator, we know that. we cant figure it out. i cant afford to take it to a shop to get it fixed either. i am having to drive the truck that gets 5 miles to a gallon of gas. it is killing me. any ideas on what it could be? i really do hate ford.
