Does this bother you?

You log in to myLot. You see you have some friends request. You see the same person trying to "be-friend" you, again. You have denied this person many times but they continue to try to add you. Does this bother you? I have one person who sends me a request about 2-3 times a week. It's so annoying. I'd think they would get the picture by now that I'm not interested in adding them as a friend. It gets really annoying. I was just curious to know if other myLotters experience this and how they feel about it.

I say message them and see why they want to be your friend so bad, and then go from there.

I could probably do that. I don't know why, but I was always under the impression that you could not message someone unless they were a friend. I could be wrong. I should look into it.

Thanks kathyj. That is what I thought as well. I have not bothered to add them. It gets annoying but I do not know why they will not give up.

There are two guys that do that to me. I just leave them pending now. I have denied them probably around a dozen times if you add the two together. I just don't get why they won't take no for an answer. I wouldn't keep pushing it. I don't see the point. I keep friends on my list who I like. Just like in the real world. I wouldn't say I was friends with someone just because they wanted to have a lot of friends.

Exactly! I don't get why these people do not get the point. I started leaving them pending too when they attempt to add me so often. I agree, I'd much rather have people I want on my list.

I think a lot of the times they forget they wanted to add you before hand. I get that sometimes too, but I really think they just don't remember. They come across you and try to add you no matter if they had tried before. It gets annoying yes, but something that you just kind of have to go with the flow on.

I don't know if I really agree with this. It may be the case sometimes. I don't think that's how it is with this person. I've talked to other people and it's the same person bugging them too. It's just too much of a coincidence! hehe

I don't get a whole lot either. I usually do approve people. I decided not to add this person for whatever reason. They continue to try to get me to "befriend" them. It's just getting annoying now.

If it is bothering you that much, you might contact myLot about it. Be sure to include who it is so they can check into it. If I check a profile and have no idea who it is, and they've never commented on my discussions, I deny them. In person-to-person conversations, a friend has to be involved in conversations with you or they would never be considered a friend. I figure it is the same here. A person who requests to be a friend should be involved in the same discussions or they can't be considered a friend. They are just trying to get something for themselves. I got a friend request from pissmeof. Whenever I tried to view his profile my browser would get tied up. I had to restart my computer to get it to work again. Obviously, I denied his request. There was something wrong there.

Well luckily its been a couple of weeks since that person has requested to be my "friend". I deny them each time but it still annoys me. I will most likely add them the next time and send them a message to stop trying to add me. If they continue then I will report them to myLot. Thanks for your response, it was great. there definitely seems to have been something going on with that person's profile. I'm sure you are better off without them.
