He let go of me..

I had a dream last night that i was with friend and the one who loves me now and the one he likes...he was trying to hold my hand but he let go of my hand when my friend (the one he liked) held his hand.
What does this mean? I told him about this and he told me, i was just having the fear that he'd let me go because the one i loved just before i started alling for him let me go, must he be right??
