Smokers, will you ever give up smoking? How to quit??

Smoking - Smoking is an addiction that's hard to kill.. You need to kill it before it kills you..

I know it's not easy to give up smoking since I've been in that phase before. But I still managed to quit. I'm just curios, when do you plan to quit? My boyfriend has tried so many times to no avail.. I don't pressure him..I know it will take a while, like how it was for me.. So what will it take for you to stop smoking? And for those of you who have quit, what were the steps you took?

My husband is a smoker for years. He has tried many times to quit smoking but he failed to do so. I guess he is not quite ready to give up smoking yet unless he has a very strong determination to do it otherwise he won't be able to quit from smoking. Now he tends to smoke lesser then he use to.Previously he smoke one packet a day and now he reduce to half packet a day,not bad... However i do hope he will completely quit from smoking.

That's not all that bad.. At least he lessened his intake.. I hope he's able to quit smoking for good.. I guess we non-smokers just need to support them any way we can.. cheers!

smoking less isn't the same as quiting at all.it's still the same risk for lung cancer.it's still a good effort though

The suggestion that worked for me was to pick a quit date. Not "today," but to set a certain date and try to stick with it. I'm not sure what that date was, but I think it may have been March 13 last year, with March 12 (probably around 11:45 p.m.) being the last puff.

I smoked for a total of about 13 years, and about 2 months ago, I quit cold turkey. It was very weird for me, because I had absolutely no problems with doing so. What I enjoyed the most about smoking was the actual act of doing it. I don't know why, but for some reason, other than addiction, I loved it.
