Have you done anything this week that's been needing to get done?

I'm very proud of myself today. I finally cleaned my oven and my refrigerator. Two jobs that don't exactly thrill me to death.
It's not that their dirty or messy jobs it's the idea that they seem to take so long to get done. I did the "overnight" way with the oven making it a lot easier in the end. Now it's sparkling clean and I'm going to hate when I use it!
My refrigerator had to be done from top to bottom, taking out the shelves and the fruit/vegetable bin on the bottom. For some reason that bin always seems to be the worst part and the funny thing is I don't really use it. Everything always ends up behind and under it making it the messiest part of the cleaning process. But hurray, it's all done and I can forget about both of them until probably September when I'll do it again.
Have you done anything this week that you've putting off like cleaning something in your house or apartment? If not, is there something that needs to be done and your putting off for some reason?

I have been packing all week. You can barely walk through our apartment. We have just a path in the living room. The men from our church are coming tomorrow night to move all of our stuff. So I have 24 hours to finish. Then I get to scrub the apartment and the stove and fridge. I hate the crispers too. Or should I say under the crispers. What a disgusting mess. Oh well back to packing for me.

Am I to take it that your moving? If so I feel so bad for you. If there's anything I hate it's moving and all the mess it makes in both places. Good luck with the packing.

Honestly, I don't feel like I've accomplished anything at all this week - nothing but interruptions, distractions, and brick walls. I am going to try my best to get something done tomorrow - I just don't know where to start there is so much to do.

Thank you - it's nice to be back but afraid I have soooo very much catching up to do. I've been on myLot for 4 hours now and still not caught up with private messages :(
Prayers are much needed for my list of things to do although some of them I have no control over at all. I am determined to accomplish something today even if only to catch up with my mylot friends.

So am I. I finally got all my ironing done today! I've been putting it off for the past 2 weeks. My next project would be to tidy up the cabinets. Then later maybe some sewing. I recently bought a pair of jeans that is too long so I need to cut it short.

We got some major work done this week. We took three days and scraped, washed and put a rubberized coating on our shed roof. It was during a heat and humidity spell, but it dried very fast. It doesn't leak! oday we planted two tomato plants. We tore out some bushes and planted two more. We transplanted some flowers that needed it and tonight I am planting my herb garden.

Major is telling it like it is isn't it? I think you deserve a well earned rest after doing all of that.

Congrats on getting all of your chores done! I know what you mean, I hate cleaning the bathroom and every week after it's done I just feel this sense of.. "ahhh"! Hehe :)
This week I got all of my brother's wedding invitations out and I'm just so glad. It can be burdensome when you know you have something pending but there's so much to do to get it done. Quite the relief!
Enjoy your squeaky clean kitchen!:D

Well nothing huge. I did my finals. Those needed to be done. Horribly so. I cleaned the cage for the hamster. Oh I did today and yesterday do lots of washing. On Wed I washed clothes, and my towels. And today I washed my sheets. The clothes are washed normally weekly, but the sheets and towels its gotta have been at least 3 weeks on each.
I also cleaned the bathroom which gets done about every 2 to 3 weeks as well. Huh.
I dont like cleaning, but I'm always glad to be done too :))

Yes! as a matter of fact, I wasn't hired on at the job I was promised, and have been playing (ugh) housewife for a little while. It really made me reevaluate our finances, and I cleaned the poor neglected toilet to a shiny white!

Laundry, lots and lots of it. I was sick last week and the last thing I wanted to do was laundry. So this week, with my 5 year old daughter's help (she puts stuff away after it's folded, and empties the dryer) I have been conquering the pile of laundry. It's finally getting small and manageable again. For a family of 6, we have a lot of laundry each day, 2 loads worth, so to not do it for a week (it was only about 4 days actually) it piles up very quickly.

Yup, the carpet needs a good shampoo i.e. rugdoctor and the windows need a good clean also, I just can't be bothered at the moment but I know I have to do it soon. Hmm maybe in the weekend if I can motivate myself.

I especially do not like rugs especially in the summer. Two years ago I took mine up and don't intend to ever put them back down again. Rug shampooing is not my specialty.

Yes, but not at home. I have been wanting to take the time to sit down with one of my students and some other people and try to convince him to get away from the "Gang". I spent a lot of time this week working with him and I saw a dent in his armor. My work is not done, bu I know between me and the others we can salvage this kid if we keep at him.

If you do nothing but that I would say you have done everything you need to do. You should be commended for even trying and getting that little dent in that armor. Good luck to you.

Well since you have so much energy, you can come to my house and clean my oven! I did manage to do my fridge too. I hate cleaning, but sometimes I wake up with a bug and attack the house from top to bottom! Sometimes though, I end up making more of a mess than if I would have just let everything be. Oh well...good intentions have to be worth something!

Good intentions are worth a lot to me and I always have a lot of them. I also get that bug but end up in a mess and going to sleep thinking I'll tackle it tomorrow.

Well, today was/is my sisters birthday and I was supposed to make her a birthday card to send her sometime this week. Has it been done yet?
NO.
I will get it done tonight. I mean, I talked to her and told her she would get it late. But I still feel sad she did not get it on time.
Since having twins, I have been a scatter brain big time...

I always put off jobs that I hate...and then they never get done. One job which I am putting off...and have been for about 8 months, is cleaning my garage. I am going to try to clean it out this weekend. Can't say I am really looking forward to it however. :)
cheers

I finally listened to my doctor and my boss and took some time off work starting today. I plan on spending this next week doing lots of things that need to be done: pay the bills, clean the house, go for eye exam and teeth cleaning, update my resume, find a new house, etc etc etc. Ask me again next week and I'll give you a list of what I have accomplished.

i know that i have been putting off a lot of things to be done these last few months. until i will have given up on keeping to put them off for another time. when this happens, it is either my son or my daughter who will have to do it for me. i really don't know what period would i call this in my life. i used to be up and working all the time that i am awake. now, i just want to have my most needed rest, that's just how i feel about it. i am lucky that my children will always understand me. last week, my son had to do the washing of the clothes. this week, it has become my daughter's turn since she has come to spend some weeks with us.

The only thing I've done this week is clean the toilet, a job I absolutely hate doing. Apart from that I've spent most of the week sleeping, working and at the gym. My to-do-list includes defrosting the freezer, cleaning the fridge and the oven. I hate housework! I might get my boyfriend to do it all, hehe. x

wow - congratulations. Two huge cleaning jobs and you did them in one day! well done you.
Yeah, isn't there always something at home that needs cleaning, but we keep pushing off? Well, for me it's the hairtrap in my bathroom. My builder cleverly concealed it such that it's not such an eyesore, but when you bend down to look under the vanity cabinet, whoa! It's a gross sight. But we've got to clean it. my hubby and I have been taking turns. Perhaps I'll hire someone to clean once a week just so I don't have to deal with that mess.
How do we shed so much hair I wonder? and it's not just in the bath but everywhere in the house. I've read once that it's normal to shed a few hundred hairs a week but the actuality of it is just still staggering! Thank God truly for vacuum cleaners!
