according to the national geographic, reptiles were laying eggs thousands of years before chickens appeared, and the first chicken came from an egg laid by a bird that was not quite a chicken. that seems to answer. the egg came first.

I think it depends on your beliefs if you are a creationist than you would say it was the chicken. If you believe in evolution than you would have to say the egg.

well, i believe in evolution and i say egg. Whatever layed the egg wasnt quite a chicken, what hatched out of it was

There is already an answer hunging out there in mylot... I think it came from my little sister. The first was a dinosaur that layed the egg that evolved to a chicken because of a mutation. Perhaps the dinosaur was an archaeopteryx.

I'm gonna have to go with the egg. I don't know why; it just seems more logical.
