It is better to go dutch with friends and lovers. There is no binding that just because one loves, one need not foot the other's bill. Also until their minds are united, hearts united, let them not unite their funds. One need not demonstrate the power of paying as part of expression of love.

                    Hi,
I can't say that I go dutch all the time. I like to pay when I am out. However, sometimes the person I am with is very insistent that they pay, or at least pick up part of the bill. In that case I usually give in and go dutch so I do not insult them.
cheers,

My fiance' and I take turns covering meals when we go out. We have not gone dutch since, well, the 90s! Going dutch is for people you aren't close to or aren't familiar with, in my opinion.
(Or if you are just plain broke.)
