This 3.5 inch vertical drive is the first for Hitachi.The Deskstar 7k1000 has perpendicular recording ability allows for more storage space.The price of drive is reasonable too.For $399 you'll get 1 terabyte of diskspace(931.5GB). You can store all movies and music collections. Performance wise Anandtech said it could rival the Western Digital's Raptor which has 1000rpm and SATA interface.
