Which do you prefer LCD or CRT monitors? Is it true that CRT monitor have greater resolution than the LCD? For viewing purposes would you prefer the CRT over the LCD?

I believe LCD screens are better on the eyes and also have less glare.

It depends on certain factors. If you are going to view for longer periood, then it is better to go for LCD monitor, it is more relaxing to the eyes and the power consumption is much lower. LCD monitors can not be viewed with the same ease as the CRT monitors when it comes to viewing them from an angle. They have limited viewing angle. So if you are going to have a lot of people to view at a time (like in a lab for demonstration) it is not suitable because those watching it from large angles would either not be able to see an image or see it with lot of reflection of light. LCD monitors are also more expensive and if something goes wrong with the screen, the repair cost could be as high as the cost of a new one. But on the whole, an LCD monitor is preferable to a CRT monitor for most of the routine and normal work that most of us are engaged in.

however, both have their own importance.. LCD'S r slim n sleek, compact in size, have good resolution but the view is only to an angle og 45 degrees.. CRT's r big in size comparative n no such restriction in view...
