If you could have chosen your name, would you have the name your parents gave you. If not what would you have chosen.?I hated mine(Susan), I wanted something different and unique. When I was in school there were often 3 0r 4 Sues in my classes. If I could have chosen I think I would like to have been named Alexandria or Anastasia. Of course once the internet came along we can make our screen names whatever we want.

I have yet to find a person who actually likes there name, now if I could have chosen my name Ann which is my middle name, or maybe Laura or Tammy depending on what age I was at the time I was chosing it.

i guess we all go through that stage wherein we hope for another name for us instead of the ones our parents gave us. but later on, we will soon realize that our names fit us. or maybe... because we have no choice anyway. hehe

I was born on Xmas day so my name is Natividad and I am called Naty for short. I don't like Natividad as it is too long and difficult to pronounce by I like Naty instead. I insist people call me Naty.

I think Susan is a pretty name but like you said they have people calling you Sue,and i can understand, but if they call you Susan thats pretty. My name is "Ellen" and there is not so many of them around, but im ok with my name i suppose. No one can take from my name like they do yours. You can pick you out a name you like and tell your friends to call you that, and it will get picked up and before long they will be calling you that.I know a lot of people that have just changed their names, not legally but just for friends sake. One girl i know her Mom named her "Bertha" can you imagine? and she is so pretty,so now she has changed it to "cookie' and no one even knows her real name...She says thats her SHOW name heehee...

I have always liked my name. My mother was very creative and named my sisters and I all with names that started with "B", and I think I got the best one. When she told me that I almost got Betty or Betsy instead of Brenda, I was especially happy that I got Brenda. I was also the one that got her middle name even though I am the third daughter and not the first, as it usually happens. I'm not sure why that happened. My other sisters are Bonnie, Barbara, Beverly and Becky.

yeah i hate my name for sure too.Thank God you came up with this one cuz i thought i was the only one who felt that way.lol. My parents named me after a saint. *does not wish to reveal it*. He's not a famous saint like St.John or St.Paul. The name is too unique and people get my name wrong sometimes,I hate it when it happens. I wish ,my name was something else like Michael maybe.

I always hated my names; I was named for two aunts, one on my father's side of the family, the other on my mother's side. I go by my first name, Betty, but I guess that's better than Eva! Anything would have been better than what they saddled me with, lol. The prettiest name I've ever heard was one of my youngest son's girlfriends. Her name was Sani A'janine. I'm not sure about the 'Sani' but A'janine is beautiful, I think (the j is soft). Of course, she quite often got teased with 'tidybowl' but she took the teasing gracefully.

I loved the name Laura when I was growing up and often called myself it. I also like Anastatia (stacia) and Isabella Josephine. I reckon I am fine with the name I was given, but I probably would not have chosen it.

S’ is first alphabet of my name. We call ‘sheen’ to the combination of s and h in our national language Urdu. My name is Shaukat Ali. But I adopted it as ‘sheen shaukat’. This is well known name in literary circles of my area. Sheen stands for combination of s and h in English. People use to ask the reason of using this letter before my name and I use to tell them the reason. In this respect you can choose a word ‘seen’ for your name. You should call and write you ‘seen Susan’. Here seen stands for s. your name starts with seen. So you could change your name and adopt your new name as ‘seen susan’

I always wanted an unusual name so that I wouldn't be thinking people were talking to me when they were talking to someone else. When I was in school there were 5 kids with my name (Pamela) and it could get very confusing. Those of us with different middle names started using them.

It's melancholy to have the same name with other people. In China there are so many people have the same names, like Jianguo,Xinhua. But most of them didn't chance their names because it has a tedious procedure. Lukily I have a good name,it's unique and at least few people who I know don't have the same name of me.

The screen names do make it easier... but my birth name, Jessy, is just so cliche, I'd want something new and pretty sounding. I'm not saying Im pretty coz trust me im not, but a nice name to roll off the tongue, like, Isabelle, or Rosealynn, or just Rose. Something I would like more than anything is a new name. Im the only Jessy I know with a Y instead of E or I.
