Do hotdogs, etc. alter your kids moods?

Quite some time ago, my 4 yr old took a liking to fritz (this is a manufactured meat, similar to hot dogs,or salami, but larger for slicing)and was having it quite often. Now I'm not sure whether it is the msgs in it or what but after several days, I think there was a build up in his system, and he became a completely different kid. He didn't listen, was easily upset, and quite angry at times. My wife and I resticted his intake of all manufactured meats, after someone suggested it could be something he'd eaten, and within a few days, he was back to his usual happy self. My son now only occaisionally has food like this now. Ever had a problem like this with any of your kids?

Sounds... scary? :P I would guess that this is something like a comfort food for your kid. Maybe someone said something to him during this period between then and now? It might not even have anything to do with hotdogs.

Well, that is sort of what my wife and I thought for a start, but sort of experimented with it, and found this type of food really did cause a change. He still has them maybe twice a week, but that doesn't cause any problems.

Yes, that he does. I like them as an easy meal for him, but not so often now!
