Do they really get rescued?

I just thought of something. The show is about people being lost on an island. If they get rescued then the show is over. I don't know how many people are old enough to remember Gilligan's Island. It's the same as with that show. Gilligan kept messing up their attempts at being rescued and even as a kid I had to realize that if they got rescued, the show would be over.

MAYBE... Jack and Katie end up leaving several people behind when they're rescued... maybe there was like a mutiny or something. And that's why Jack feels like he needs to go back, cuz he feels so guilty(?).

First of all let me say thank goodness I'm not the only one on mylot who's old enough to remember Gilligan! lol I think on LOST, they are going to do a few "Gilliganesque" things to escape, but none will work for the next three seasons. The producers just inked a deal for that long. So, of course, our heros will be stuck for a while!

I think they will get rescued but not next season- I think there are 2 more seasons- Then again maybe it will put a spin on things- and we will see how they all want to get back to the island- How much their lives have changed - for the worse- Who knows- I love this show!

Yes! They really get rescued. But they want to return on the island.

Can I ask how you know this? There are so many theories about that "flash-forward" that it is just as likely to be a dream as a premonition! x

I have heard the have the basic template of all the little adventures and twists and turns that are going to be written for the whole show. I know they have added a few more episodes, but I don't think it was ever a show that was intended to go on forever.

The show is slated to end after 120 episodes I believe? I read an article about how the writers orginally planned for it to end after 100 episodes, but struck a deal with the network for 120 episodes - so the show will end. It may or may not end with them being rescued? I guess we'll have to watch and find out?!

Yes the show is over. It's over in 2010. But the questions that still remain make me want to keep watching the show. Who gets rescued? How do they get rescued? And of course all the other thousands of questions still unanswered about the island and the others.

I loved Gilligan's Island and I never wanted them to get rescued.I thought it would be so neat to swim and goof off all the time.I thought of it as a vacation at the beach.I might not have liked it when the storms came.
