My baby girl born on May 18, 2007

She was having a cord coil on her neck and have to be removed about 2 weeks early since she can't breath everytime her mother is having a contraction. We were worried to have her out prematurely since her actual count of birth would still be sometime June 10, plus or minus 2 weeks. Even the doctor who did the surgery (caesarian) was thinking she might need to be put in an incubator since she's 2 - 4 weeks advanced and was surprised she was big enough already at 7.2 lbs :)

Congratulations on the new baby. When I was trying to have my son his heartrate kept going real high and then dropping down real low. They put oxygen on me trying to get it to him and it still wasn't working. So they had to do an emergency c-section and they found out the cord was wrapped around his neck and was in two knots. So everytime he was trying to come down the birth canal it was cutting his air off and not letting him breath. So I was happy they did the c-section and I bet you guys are happy too. I'm glad everything went well for you guys.

thank you... and you're right, we are so happy everything went out fine... i think we have the same situation, only that, my wife isn't having a contraction yet... although they have a method to make her contract that's why they also saw that the baby was losing oxygen when she starts to contract... and we saw that there was a cord coil around her neck at the ultrasound only that it was loose... and when she got out, it was not the cord that cuts her oxygen off, it was the cord that got stuck on her head when she positioned her head to the exit so in case she tries to come out, her head will flatten the cord to stop the oxygen to her lungs... luckily the doctors decided to let her out early already...

Congratulations!!Your baby looks so lovely!Don't worry. The fetus born at the gestational age of 32 weeeks can basically survive. At this time you should take good care of the the newborn infant;A fetus born at the gestational age of 36 weeeks can survive heathily and cry, suck himself. Now that you just take good care of your baby to see if she can breath smoothly, suck and so on.Hope she grow healthily!

Congratulations on a healthy new baby girl! How exciting and I am happy that she is safe and in your arms! I have two daughters and they are my pride and joy. Bothe were delivered C-section and they are now 25 and almost 27. The oldest was born on 08/18/1980. I wish all your family the best and may you enjoy your children as much as I enjoy mine. I see the world in a better light due to my daughters and their friends.

It's posts and pictures like these that make every mother long for those infant days. (until we remember the 9 months of pregnancy and the sleepless nights, and countless diapers). I have a 8 month old, and the little pic of your darling girl ALMOST makes me want another one already, almost. (: Congrats on your healthy baby girl, I'm glad everything worked out alright. God bless!

Being a few weeks early is really not that big a deal. Especially since most babies' due dates are not 100% accurate. I was born two weeks early and I turned out just fine. I just decided that I wanted into the world a little earlier than planned. My son was born 6 weeks early and he was already 7lbs 10oz when he was born. The doctor said he might have been close to 10lbs had he gone full term. He had a little trouble with regulating his temp for the first few days and had baby jaundice but in the end he turned out just fine. He is going to be 5 on June 11 and he is fine. Congrats on the new baby girl. You are going to enjoy every minute of having that precious bundle of joy. Many blessings on her. :)

thank you... i think it was just more scary since it's our first baby, and also it was an unseen problem that surprised us since all the time she was fine and until she was born, she never showed any signs of stress or probs. we just happened to have her heartbeat checked and that's where the doctors got worried that she losses oxygen during contractions. and losing oxygen for a long time, as the doctors say, causes abnormalities to a babies growth. i think my baby would have also been 9 or 10 lbs if full term since the last time we had ultrasound 2 weeks before she was born, she was only 5.5 lbs

Beautiful baby! Be proud! We had a similar experience and our last boy was born 4-6 weeks early and he was "only" 7.5 pounds...I say that because he's the runt of the family...10.8, 10.2, 9.9 pounds....I hope you are recovering well!
