Nature

I think we are given lessons to learn in this lifetime. Learning these lessons furthers our spiritual journey, which is what life is all about. So, maybe rich people need to learn something from being rich -- like how to be generous to the poor, or that no amount of money will buy happiness. Poor people may need to learn that happiness can be had without money (although we all know that having at least SOME money will make things easier), or that if they give some of what little they do have their rewards will be 10 times that amount, or that money is no substitute for friends. Nature can appear very cruel, sometimes, but it gives us the opportunity to learn our lessons!
