and come back on to find the the Email is overflowing with myLot "your friend 'foodledoop' has started a new discussion" and there are metric'butt'loads of them because not only foodledoop, but narly, razmusen, tinkles, twitter, gabblebotchit, and kronk have All Started barrels full of topics?!?!
My, oh my!
You children have been busy! I almost couldn't find my electric bill amongst all of them.
I'll see what I can do to tag on a few of them - but goodness - its scary to go 'away' for even just a bit.
So - is there anyone else out there contemplating turning OFF the notification on your friends list so that your email doesn't explode while you are out?

Heheh sorry but I do know the feeling. I left for a week without notice and boy did my mail box fill up and this was before we could get the notifications on comments. I could just imagine how it would be now if I did that.
Not sure what email program you use but for me I use Outlook Express and I use rules so that way different emails go into different folders. Makes it far easier for sorting it all out.
For now though I would suggest taking a deep breath. Go through them in your box and delete the ones you know you won't answer and get it to a manageable amount. Then it won't seem so bad.

Oh I love my OE and I hope I never have to change to just Outlook.
The files really do make a difference and the message rules. Might have to play with it a bit to get it to work just how you want but once you know it makes things so much easier.

yeah, I know you can do the sort thing - but hadn't really thought about it before going on hiatus - that will be fixed for at least the comments that are incoming!

I turned off all notifications very early on for that exact reason...mt inbox was becoming swamped. Now when I sign on to Mylot the first thing I do is head to the discussions my friends started section and answer as many of those that I can...it's pretty much the same as receiving the notification anyway.

Shoot - I didn't even know you could get notifications in your email. I'm very new to this. Thanks for pointing it out! Of course, I think I have one friend right now. Would you be my friend? ;) Regardless, thanks for the valuable info.
