My first ever waterfall--any comments?

paintings, waterfall, waterscapes, landscapes - This is my first ever waterfall. It was going to be an ocean scene but somehow it turned into a waterfall LOL. Its amazing how a gift will somehow take over and create something out of a mistake.

Curious...I would like some opinions on this piece. This is my first ever waterfall and I want to know what you think. Johnna www.blogcharm.com/Colorsofink

Nice painting. If you can add some pink color, maybe it looks better? There will be flowers nearby the waterfall.

Riverside - This is one of my earlier works, an early attempt to do moving water. The first attempt looked more like a cornfield than water!
It certainly has movement. Is it watercolor or oils or acrylic? I've not worked in any of those media, so don't take my observations too seriously -:-). I'd like to see more variety of strokes where the faling water meets the bottom water so that it seems to splash. But other than that, I really like what you've done. I work with pastels and find that painting water, especially moving water, is very challenging.

Thank you and yes, it is acrylics. I agree it is challenging. I wasn't even planning to paint a waterfall when it just happened LOL. Johnna www.blogcharm.com/Colorsofink

Although I'm not too familiar with painting techniques and movements... I guess I can say there's some impressionist influence there, right? The kind of picture that I like... it includes nature, in a blurred way, so it feels very very relaxing. It's like when you open your eyes after sleeping and everything is still a little blurred, going back on focus in a few secs. I guess that's why I think it's relaxing. =P I really like it... and if this is your first, I want to know the next few, when you get the handle of it. =P congratulations!

Wow thanks to you both! I am not sure what I call my art LOL. I know this-- its a gift from God and I want to use my art to put a MAJOR dent in American poverty. Check out my blog, Colors of Ink www.blogcharm.com/Colorsofink Johnna

Very nice. Watercolor or Oil? Hard to tell on the internet. Yes, what you say is very true, at times we are but a vessel while the Art paints itself
