why me?

Why is God allowing this to happen? Even if we are suffering acutely we must not forget the mercies of God that flows into our lives - such things as food, shelter and friends - blessings and ask, why me? Then our grumbling will give way to praise. Often times we find our selves, searching for answers of our question why me? Then we realize that other epople are suffering more than we are and that we are just the tip of their sufferings. Its a way that we could also thank God for. When we hear other people expereincing the worst we cold only whisper a prayer for them. SO when ever we come to a point where we think its too much and ask the question why me, check it first and lift a prayer to God. ARe you over burdened with a load of care? Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear? Count your many bleassings, every dobt will fly, and you will be singing as the days goes by. -oatman-

Well i can only say everything that has to do with love and is good is from God.All the other things is not God's his fault but our own fault. We have our own free will to choose bad over good.If we choose bad others will suffer from our choices. I like the verse from John 16:32 In this world you will have trouble but fear not for i have overcome the world.

I think we all have our good and bad times but if we always rely on God in each circumstance we can grow from our experiences and always praise him no matter what we will be happier in our daily lives.

Count your blessings, name them one by one Count your many blessings, see what God has done... Sometimes when it seems that we're suffering so, God is in it with us, guiding us and teaching us along the way. He doesn't change our circumstances because He sees a greater good in our learning and learning to lean upon Him. Other times, Satan comes against us to try to destroy us. If we trust in God, he cannot do that, although life can seem very painful at times. Either way, it's good to praise God and to thank Him because without Him we could easily be destroyed by these things.

What you say is true. We all tend to think more about our problems and forget about the happier times. If we do get something, then, we try to congratulate ourselves and say that it is the result of our hard work, but, if something does not work, we blame God and others, when it is our failure.

When we are faced with difficulties and struggles, we often forget how much blessings we have in our lives and we ask why He lets it happen. But when everything is good and abundant, we forget to thank God and don't ask why we are given such blessings, or even wonder what we did to deserve them. I think we should always count what we have and thank God for each one of them. Focus not on what we don't have for it will only seem that we don't have much at all. But if we focus on the numerous gifts God bestowed upon our lives, we will realize how truly blessed we are. Everything happens for a reason and we should trust God enough for above all, He knows what's best for us.

It's true, even I myself is like that... I'm always asking.. why am I given this deformities? why my younger brothers don't have deformities, only me??? But then, I'm grateful that I am alive, I am grateful because even though I have deformities, but it's only slight and easy to bear, unlike others who can't even walk, see, talk... That's why I always remind myself that I am unique, special, and should be grateful at all times, because I can think clearly, I can walk/run, I still have both hands, and I can talk, though with a (very) little difficulty. But still I'm grateful! Count your blessings, name them one by one! Count your blessings, see what God has done!

Even if I suffer much, I thank God for choosing me to go through the pain, as it is his plan in his own way to make me strong and prepare for the challenges of life in the future..

things happen for a reason and these things are those that we can bear. Thinking of it makes us want to give up but when we are in the situation we are pushed to do more than what we expected we can do.

good view, i think so good if we count His blessing, but it;s good to change our mindset. we must think that suffering is blessing, i think that suffering will make us grow, no one in this world grow without suffering even they are babies, if we still baby, we learn to stand or walk, it;s suffering for us, but after we can stand and walk, oh my goodness we are grow more than before, but we must face the next suffering to make us grow to the next level, so i think suffering like surfing, enjoy the wave use our board to solve the wave of problem. it;s like art to solve the problem. thanks

Its the way we react and our attitude to these kinds of events in our lives. Often times we always see the negative side of it and the negative feeling that associate it and that goes with it. In the ed we end up broken but whole again hurt but stronger. Have a nice day!

I used to asked myself and god "Why Me?" when I am being volunteered for anything that I do not want. Then I came across an article that tells us we should be able to accept anything that is "given" to us, and not question "Why Me". This is because only when we have the chance to experience for ourselves, we can help mankind. Help offered will be of higher quality if we can empathise with the circumstance. I find it rather true and no longer question 'Why me?'.

Yes, why me? If we look very close there are still others who suffer the same and even worst than what we are experiencing.

Honestly I asked this question. I was diagnosed with multiple cysts in my spleen one sad summer, just last year. But am glad to have recovered from being sad about it. I have moved-on and I told myself about how great God is. My faith little by litle took my life back. I begun to engage my self into something new. Where I can forget my cysts and fucos with God's blessings. It is very relaxing knowing God and keeping my faith in crossedfingers.

a very interesting topic. i once read this story about a pastor on a plane trip. next to him was a young lady who looked so sad and very angry with the world. the pastor started a conversation with the lady and soon he was able to find out that the lady has gone through tough times, she was raped. and this was the question the lady asked the pastor, " why me?" the pastor was quiet for a moment and then he asked the lady, "why? what makes you so special that this thing should not happen to you?" regardless to say, the lady was taken aback by this question. i can't remember what happened next, but i was also taken aback by that question, what makes us so special that bad things should happen to other people and not to us? at first i could not explain it to myself but the question kept repeating itself on my mind. then i finally realized that when bad things happen to us, its not that God wants us to suffer its just that He wants us know that He is there for us. that no matter what happens to us, He will always be there to guide us and will never let sufferring take the better of us. to Him, we are all equal and that no one is special or a little lower in the ranks. He loves each and everyone of us without questions.

Yes i think it is important that we always try to remember our blessings and not to take things for granted. I have a favorite saying when anyone askes me "how are you?" I reply.. "could be better, could be worse" There is always someone worse off then you are. Some people complain about their lives, they wonder why their life is so horrible when there is a roof over their heads, food in their stomach and family around them. What about people who have no family? no home? Some of those people still manage to keep faith. Some of us have forgotten how to have faith and how to give thanks. We should remember other people in our prayers because we would want the same for ourselves. When people say "why me" what they are really saying is "help me". BUT what if we were to bury our egos and put aside out desires and help someone else realize these things instead.

When reading this question and the answers that followed, I can't but wonder why we talk so much in God's defense: think of the blessings, the things to be greatful for... Please, don't misunderstand: of course I am greatful to God for life's good things. But: shouldn't we praise Him in every circunstance? The LORD gives, the LORD takes away; blessed be the name of the LORD. New Testament is very clear in stating that there is tribulation in this world and does NOT promise relief, but also makes clear that the joy and peace in Christ are greater than every earthly suffering. Knowing what Jesus did for me, there isn't anything else I need to justify my thankfulness.

If I were to describe my life, it is more of raging waters than a calm one. I've been to many difficulties and pain, (and still having a taste of it from time to time!)that I used to ask God the same question : why me? But later in life, I came to realize that I needed those things to make me the kind of person that I am now. I'm kinda stubborn and I know that God knows fairly well how to deal with me. With that in mind, i now view sufferings in a different way. We are where we are today by God's design. We just need to trust Him as we go through our life's storms. Remember, there's a rainbow after every storm. God is a sovereign, omnipotent God, therefore, I will not worry. I will not fret.
