We have finally adopted two new bunnies after the loss of our little pixie (my avatar pic) The house was very quiet without any animals so we now have two little girls..A mini dwarf lop named Sasha and a netherland dwarf named Pepper. I swear the little lop is Pixie reincarnated as she has very similar temprament. Anyway they are inside babies so there is no chance of any dogs taking them and my kids are madly in love all over again. Thanks for letting me keep you up to date.....

I am so happy that you decided to get new bunnies. I know they can never take Pixie's place but they can sure help the healing process. Now I will wait patiently for some pictures because I would love to see what they look like.

Thanks Brendalee. Your web sites and support definately helped. I think Sasha is pixie reincarnated as she is so similar in her habits. They are both very sweet and my daughter especially sits with them every spare minute. She has them both lying like babies in her lap while she watches TV!

I am so happy to hear about your new babies... and good for keeping them inside this time. Especially since you were never able to locate the dog that got your last bunny .

We actually did find the dogs (they were bull terrier mother and son cross) that live just six or so doors up from us. I spoke to a neighbour the other week who was shooing them away after they killed one of his chooks. I again rang the council and they said it is easier to do something if we actually catch them out of their yard, but the animal control people have spoken to the owners and warned them to keep the dogs inside. They were also not registered with the council which is a law here. I keep an eye on their yard now to see if the gate is shut, but I still don't let these little bunnies outside at all. They have a big cage in our laundry and are out for a run each day when we are home.

I don't think I could do that, although my husband was leaning toward that line of thinking! Without being too gross, one of the dogs revisited our yard the next evening and left a #$* on our lawn that was particularly nasty, so I'm hoping Pixie gave them a really bad gut ache!!

Well at least now you know where they are coming from and can keep an eye out. Personally, even though I love animals, I would leave some "laced" meat in the yard in case they come back !! Nothing to kill them, but something to make them think twice !!

Congrats on getting them. It is good that you have nwe ones to take your mind off the loss of the other one. I hope that you do make sure they stay inside, as you would not want the same thing to happen to these new ones.

We have a nice big cage set up in the laundry now and they are out each day in the morning and evening being cuddled and running around. During the days we are home, they aren't in the cage much at all but we have to watch our elec. cords as one has already had a nibble!

Congratulations on having two new bunnies. You will have to take pictures of your bunnies for us to see. I bet they are so cute. Are they playful? I know it will take some getting used to their new home and family members. Glad to hear that your kids love them too and am glad that they will be indoors where they will be safe.

Thanks for your reply. As I am working a bit more lately we decided to get two bunnies so they have company when we are not here. When I get myself organised again I will download some pics.

How cute! I have seen only standard rexs though and we didn't want one that big. I do remember on in the pet store wanting to lick me through the cage. If I had my way , we would have taken them all home!
