The Distraction of The Glitter

Ther seems to be a persistent effort on the part of the media today to push inconsequential news. Why is such attention paid to the activities of Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton when there are so many more important things to focus on? Is this attention intended to distract the American Public from the issue of the day? These three somewhat priveledged young ladies do not represent the current values and struggle of our country. To focus on them at a time when our country is at war, soldiers are dying and gas prices are at an all time high seems irresponsible. These things may be interesting and fun but they hardly qualify as news worthy of all the attention they are getting. What you think is this distraction intentional?
