Need a WordPress Theme to Work with Widgets Plugin

I'm still learning the ropes about Wordpress. My blog is up and running abut I'd really like to customize it. I added the plugin called "widgets". I learned that my theme doesn't allow it. Does anyone know what theme does? Or how to find it? Where do you go for help with your WordPress questions? Thanks in advance for your help.
