Do you see any difference in virtue and decency?

For me they are closely related and virtue is a tint of decency.

If you had just explained the difference between the two, it could have been interesting for all the members.

Hi ssh123, hope this could help. Virtue is a moral excellence of a person, it is a trait valued as being good. it signifies manliness or courage. and Decency is a state or quality of being decent, propriety of conduct and proper behavior. ^_^

I believe a virtue is something that is perfect and therefore impossible for humans to reach. Instead people are able to achieve a bit of each virtue. Decency is more like knowing in your heart what is right and wrong.

They are but closely related. Vituosity is calculated in wider perspective, keeping everything and anything in mind, over a large period of time. Whereas, decency is used, more appropriately, in day-to-day issues. A virtuous person has to be good throughout his life, regularly, incessantly without time out. A decent person, could turn indecent at times and thus negate his vituosity. Thanks.

Hello my dear friend ssh. There are many of your discussions that seem familiar to me, but I am happy to have found this one that I have not responded to so that I can have my viewpoints about this topic as a greeting to you for Christmas. Well, I think that both virtue and decency are of the wonderful personalities that a great and decent person needs to have, based on which he is sure to be a man of great popularity and worth learning from, admiring and showing great respect to... Therefore I agree with you one hundred percent on this issue as some subsidiary to your topic. Thanks very much for your discussion and Merry Christmas to you and your family, my dear ssh.

I think that you would have to be a little of both to be any of either. You definitely must have a strong sense of decency to be a virtuous person, and if you are virtuous in you life you are decent in your dealings, so yes they are closely related. Thank you for the topic.

Well, for me there is a Big difference, and one that is quite vibrant at that. For me, virtue is women who are christian and have values and morals who save themselved for marriage no matter what it takes. Decency to me is someone who is well behaved and stands up for good in the community. I can see where you can say they are closely related, but I still feel Virtue is so much more. To find women in this world that have Virtue is hard to find, and these people are some of the most respected and looked at women out there.
