Long engagement before marriage.

Do you subscribe to this statement because in my experience I meet my other half and we dated only for months and we decided to get married after that, but I also subscribe to this statement although it does not happened in my case but it depends I think in every individual relationships.

Jessemt35, I believe in long engagement because you get to know each other more. Couples also prepare themselves psychologically and financially in raising their family when they get married.

I see no reason to get married but if I some day decide to get married there's no reason why I should go and be engaged a long time before the actual marriage.
