HELP: anyone have any experience with Jim Walter Homes?

Our Jim Walter Home - This is the home that we are currently in the process of building with Jim Walter Homes; as you can see, it is not completely framed yet. We purchased the home 100% complete and ready to move in - it will be a while yet before it is finished.

We are building a Jim Walter Home, and are having problems with the company. I am curious as to whether or not anyone else has had any dealings with them - Good or Bad? Along with the other problems we have had, they did not pay the sub contractor yesterday - for the second week in a row!! Please if you have had any dealings with them, let me know. I am afraid that we are going to have to take legal action.....

While I have not had experience with Jim Walter Home, I can point you in the direction of some references that may be able to help: 1. The Better Business Bureau http://search.bbb.org You can look up that company with the BBB, if you wish to file a complaint, you can fill out a form. Any complaint will be on the record permanently until it's resolved. 2. www.lawyers.com This is a web-directory of attorneys that may be able to help. Legal action can get PRETTY EXPENSIVE, so weigh out the consequences. However, if the amount in contention is under or around $1,000, you may want to consider taking it to small claims court. There are risks involved in any legal undertaking; the question you gotta ask is: Is this situation going to get any better any time soon?

I appreciate the suggestions. I doubt that it will get any better. My husband's ex-wife has a state sales tax lien against her - we share the same first name. They have decided that I am her and am responsible for paying her lien before they will turn the house over to us. This is because we put part of our land up for the down payment. However, there is no lien on our land, nor can one be placed on it for this. We are thinking seriously of getting a lawyer to handle this.

I don't know if this has been resolved yet or not but I would suggest you hire an attorney although it will be expensive. Good luck with it. !!HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~
