Do you listen to songs that you do not understand, those that are of another language? hehe.. I do. I like listening to Korean songs and Cantonese songs although I don't really understand them. The Cantonese ones I can still pick up on some parts sometimes cause it does have similarity with Mandarin, and I like the tune and melodies.

I listen to such kinds of music, too, smints8985. Though I'm not quite sure as to what his songs' lyrics actually mean, I still listen to Andrea Bocelli's music. I find the soothing melodies and tunes of his songs very relaxing. It has a certain calming effect, which I find especially useful when I'm studying. I particularly like vivo per lei and the godfather soundtrack.

And yeah another thing about listening to these music we don't understand is that we don't get disctracted, it is actually perfect for studying and the like. Cause usually I'd sing along, and since I can't really understand how much more pronounce the lyrics right, they are quite good for background music. heheh

My friend in fact recommended me some Thai songs because they are brightening and often with nice melodies. When you don't understand the music, you can be completely immersed in the tune and groove to it!

yes rarely though, what entices me to keep listening to japanese, chinese, french, spanish or whatever songs is the melody.. tunes that are classics, all-time good to my ears

yeah, i do.. usually japanese anime soundtracks.. i don't really care much of the lyrics.. its the rhythm i'm listening to.. pretty much like listening to Bone Thugs n' Harmony rap music.. you barely understand the lyrics, considering its already in english, but simply love the rhythm and rapid rapping.. c",)

I listen to some Japanese pop, some German metal and punk, and some Spanish punk. I also have a strange fondness for Shakira, even though I can't understand half of her songs.

Hello, smints,i do listen to musics other than english, may be japanese, korean ,etc. It is not really important whether you can understand the songs or not,as long as the rhythms of the songs are good,i will enjoy listening them even i do not understand the meaning of the lyrics.
