Trying To Get A Grasp On Earnings...

Hi all, I am a new member as you can see, and I am a little confused on the earning system here at myLot, and was wondering if anyone here would be able to put it into better perspective for me. Does the potential earnings per post increase after 100 posts and are earning amounts based on rating? I read somewhere that is was 3 cents per-post, plus extra for posting photos, but my earnings do not seem to reflect what would be considered 3 cents per post. Is this because I am new and am not able to get stars yet? I am not complaining whatsoever, I am just trying to get a grasp on how things work here. Thanks in advance for any help! :)

somehow i think the algorithm for the earnings isbased on 1. how many discussions you start 2. how many response you make 3. how many words you used 4. how long the sentence is 5. how many words you use matches the oringial post you are replying to 6. how many response you get 7. word blacklist; common words whiil not get you points. words like "hello" "earnings" "member" and so forth 8. how long between post; to weed out people posting without reading the main everyones post. with this you just use some maths algorithm to get a ratings which translates to earnings. so how do you imporve your earnings? 1. use bombastic english words. pull out that dictionary and start using words, example, instead of saying "confuse, say "baffle" or "mystify" or "bewildered" 2. READ other peoples post throughly and pay attention to the english words they use. use it back. the algo will know your answer is related to the post when you use same words. 3. type full sentences. "u rock dude" just don't work. typos (my specialty) aren't a blessings either. 4. do not be an idiot and cut&paste from other site lengthy article or explaination. the algo detects lenghty post and beeps the mods to check. i have seen people with bad english posting pulitzer quality discussion all of a sudden 5. swearing and name calling maybe fashionable in your household but it it signals the algo to ignore that post. you will not earn. other than that...enjoy you stay with us.

Greetings carbyville, and welcome to mylot! I think all is the same, and earnings only depend on our participation here. In fact, mylot have their own explanation about this. You should've gone through link, or their own public profile. We earn depending on how we put our posts, be it of quality or contributive to the whole mylot community. We can also earn more by adding photos on discussions, and by giving referrals (friends, family members).. To make things more clearer for you, I'll provide this links for you to understand more about the earnings algorithm here in mylot. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/343175.aspx Here is the link about our reputation. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/573319.aspx Hope this helps, goodluck and enjoy posting.

Hey friend , sorry but to tell you the post rating isn't 3 cents per post , it is surely less then that .. if you want to earn big money here isn't easy , you need to devote yourself here and getting referrals in order to do that . Or else just enjoy you stay here , most of us here are very friendly

Your also haunted by what everyone got haunted when they were new. Don't get it to your head and you won't even have a slimy chance to know and get a gasp on earnings. However, there are ways to increase your earnings potential. There are many ways like using good punctuation, good english and long sentences. Long posts make you earn more. Moreover, try making refferals. I mean lots of them and even if some of them get active you can earn more. I started out trying building refferals and have made 8 so far in quite much less time. Remember, no one knows how much they earn for their post. Most people estimate about their earnings. I'm nearly earning 3 per post and I've made it after quite much difficulty. Sort of that. Good luck to mylotter, my newbie mylotter friend. :)

One way to work out your earnings is that each day you write down what you have earned, it is updated daily and the number of posts you have made, just make a note each day of the figure at the side of your username and you can work it out from that. Do this for a few days and you will have a good idea of what you earn. It can vary a little but this should give you a good guideline. You need to reach a $10 minimum to get paid and if you don't reach tht in a month it is carried over to the next month. You are paid by the 15th for the previous months earnings. You would have to be very active to reach payout this month so you might find that your first payout is in July.

yeah i dont know if this helps but yesterday i posted a total of 12 things, 2 new blogs and 10 replies to old blogs and i got a little over a quarters worth, so the scale is most likely based on how long your topic is, how much your blogs are read and replied to, and how relevant your reply and or blog is to the subject

Try to write a discussion that will attract other users , when you make friends they will read your discussions and you will in turn read theirs , read and rate all of your responses ( to your discussions ) with a +/ don't give someone a - just because they don't agree with you that is what a discussion is all about , try and give a response of your own to the responses you get from others . try not to leave a short answer like yes , or thanks , Or , I like that , The better your response as long as it is the topic , the better points( money) you will get . I will say make friends and enjoy the site and don't worry too much about the money , it adds up before you know it you have your $10 + xx

Even though I have been a member for more than 8 months now, I have failed to understand MyLot's payment scheme. But I also must say this truthfully that I dont get the time to do too much of MyLot because I am a student. ( well for 1 more year )

Earning rate per post is independent of many things you have mentioned. No one exactly knows how much one earns on each of the ways you have mentioned. Part of what you heard could be true, like 3 cents. The payment is dependent upon quality of the contents. To what extent your reply is relevant and useful to the discussion, matters a lot. Does it cover the main idea of the discussion? Things like that matter. The computation algorithms might have been mechanised into the computers and the process may be automatic, now. Whether you have completed 100 or not, got a star or not, these things do not affect the rate at which you get paymenmt. I have some times got 3 cents for a discussion, some time, perhaps one. Just try to give a good and useful answer and hope for a good payment.

There is no set amount on how much you earn per post or for creating a topic on Mylot. You will earn more money on mylot if you post quality, lenghty and helpful responses to discussions. Also creating discussions that invite everyone to give their opinions will help get more responses to your discussions and thus increase earnings. You are rewarded for your activity and quality contributions to mylot, the only thing that has a set amount is that if you attach a relevant picture to your discussions you will earn one cent for doing so.

http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx says "mylot does not reward low-quality contributions, or even worst, attempts to game the earnings algorithm." above is the faq from mylot. please read properly the part they says "attempts to game the earnings algorithm". there is a methodology of calculating WHAT a set of posting would have to include to be flag as 'quality'. how the make sure what quality is? read my first response. if livelifeup is still confuse of what i wrote, i know its lenghty then please define what you mean by "quality" and how a computer algorithm detects it. i have done mine, its your turn. livelifeup mention adding 'tags' to earn. wrong. tags are use for fellow mylot users to search for a particular posting of interest. that is why you are given an option to "skip".
