I fell asleep last night around 7pm because I had a headache that would not go away. I woke up at 12:30 am and realized lights were on. I got out of bed to check it out and my daughters weren't in there room. I quickly went down stairs to see if they were down there. No one was home. My SO wasn't any where to be found yet the truck was home. I started to panic. No one was around. I tried calling the bar (it is the only place in town) no one answered. Odd it wasn't 1:00 yet. I got dressed and jumped in my car and went the block to the bar. His sister owns the bar and her car was there but no one was in the bar as I banged on the door. I was even more paniced and went to her house thinking my daughters might be babysitting her grandkids. Nope no one there. I went to his brothers and he said he had seen them earlier in the evening at the bar but had left early. My heart was racing I didn't know what to do. I came back home to collect my thoughts. As I sat there paniced almost in tears the door opens and in he stumbles. I asked where had he been and where were the girls? Ok I might have not said it so nicely. He said on they stayed over at a friends house over night and he had gone to another town to the bar with his sister and friends. Of course I was furious and he grabbed the key to the golf cart and I asked where are you going now? He said for a drive. (driving around in golf carts is a big thing here but that is another topic) I told him that was not a good idea since he clearly had had too much to drink but he went outside. Now I am really mad but laughed when the golf cart didn't start. I turned on my computer while I waited and the computer was dead. Ok so now my temper is really at an all time high but wasn't hearing him move out there so thought I better make sure he hadn't passed out. I went outside and he was trying to jump start the golf cart from his truck. I am really not sure where my calm voice came from but I calmly said you need to let the golf cart go and go to bed now. He said ok and walked in the house and went to bed. So now I get to deal with a crashed computer. Which to get it fixed I had to take it an hour away. As you can tell I got it fixed but now I am so tired!!! So how would you handle this day?

You poor thing. I would probably have taken my headache back to bed and hope it all sorted itself out rather than chasing round town. Mind you we live on the edge of a city so family could be anywhere. Do they not have mobile phones you could try? We tend to write messages for each other. I always thought I would not be able to sleep until the children came in (now they are teenagers) but I don't have any trouble, just drop straight off. I trust them and the friends I know and my worryin won't help anyway. I have always told them I only had them to look after me in my old age anyway! LOL Glad it all turned out well in the end.

Im not a parent so i cant imagine the anguish and thoughts you were thinking when you were thinking where your children could be, i would think its not a very nice feeling though when you dont know where your children are. When i have a day like yours though i normally just get out of the house and go for a walk, especially at night and especially if its raining. I enjoy walks in the rain as i find it relaxes me.
