There several periods of history I would love to be able to visit...Ancient Egyptian, Ancient Greek, Medieval, Renaissance, and America's colonial period, when this country was still "untamed" and wild--I look at period movies say like Last Of The Mohicans and look at the scenery (it was filmed in North Carolina) and think my God...once this whole country was beautiful like that...of course, this might be the part Native American in me wishing to have seen that--the way this country once was

You are so right, pyewacket! I want to just cry when I think about what has been done to our beautiful country. I grew up in the country in Tennessee, and it was so beautiful there. Lots of wide open space. When we were kids we nefver tired of exploring nearby caves. Families mostly had gardens and grew much of their food. I think the Cherokee in me cries out for the land also.

Oh-see-YOH--I don't know if you know the Cherokee language--I'm not, Cherokee that is, but I do know how to say hello in about 8 different Native American languages...I'm part Wiccoccomicco, which was one of the 30 tribes under the Powhatan Confederacy, part Cree, and part Zapotec--ever listen to Rita Coolidge...she has one beautiful album where she and her sister and niece sing in Cherokee

for me it would be the 19th century. I would love to lived like an aristocrat in england, a rich philanthropist lady of a manor. Who had tea at 4pm and gave to all the local charities, and when to the cotillions and big balls.

Sounds good to me, winterose. There's a lot to be said for living the lifestyle of the idle rich. That's why I like to read so much-it has the power to take me away to any time or place I choose.

I would love to go back to the sixties as I only just made it onto this earth in the last couple of months of that decade! I think things were really exciting then , women were being liberated, people were into love not war and the music and dancing well need I say more! xxx

Yes, that was a notable period, mummymo, but even though there was a lot of love we were also in a war. I was just a young adult then, and life was beautiful.

I'd love to visit the Bakumatsu Era of Japanese history. That's when revolutionaries were attempting to overthrow the imperial government, and samurai (such as the Shinsen-gumi) roamed the streets. The fashion and architecture was so beautiful; plus, I love the idea of samurai and ninjas and so on (though I'm not crazy about war). So exciting~!
