i took my daughter to park safari today, we were out all day in the sun. we got home and she started having diarea and vomitting. could the heat and sun we where in all day cause that. she didn't have anything to eat different there, we brought all our own food.

I'm not sure if thats heat exhaustion. Does she seem okay otherwise? Keep giving her fluids! I think maybe she is just a little dehydrated. I also looked up heat stroke and that has symptoms like confusion, dizziness ect. As long as she doesn't have that I think she's ok. If she seems weak or limp, i'd take her to the er.

Poor girl! I hope she feels better. I hate when that happens, you just want them to have a great day and something bad happens and they feel miserable! :(

I was told that once you have had heatstroke you are more pron to it and always have a lower tolerance for heat. If your daughter had heatstroke then you may want to research this.

The heat and or sun can cause all these symptoms. Make sure you get her to drink a lot of fluids to put the vitamins and minoral back in her system. Children dehydrate easily. You can try gatorade or I think there is one called pediacare that is made just for kids. Ask your doctor but keeping you and her hydrated duing the hot summer is very important to good health. I have a problem with the sun and dehydration because of my asthma so my doctor told me that gatorade is best for putting the vitamins and minorals back into my system.
