Bad Dogs!

We have 4 dogs, a Black Lab, a Golden mix, a Pommeranian and a Papillion. The 2 little dogs have a pen on the side of the house that is "little dog proof". The whole yard is fenced in for the big dogs. I recently took in my ex-son-law's Chocolate Lab for a while, while he is looking for a place that will take him and the dog. Looks like I may have Snickers for the next year while he gets back on his feet. Oh, and we live about 1/2 block up from a lake. Yesterday I let all 3 big dogs out in the yard and went about my business. I later went to call them in and I only saw the Golden mix in the yard. I called and there was Snickers on the OUTSIDE of the fence. Hmmmm.....I thought to myself. How did he get OUT there????? Who else got out? So I called Magnum and, no Magnum in sight. Hmmmmm....I thought again. How did he get out??? Magnum has really bad arthritis in both knees so can't have a lot of exercise. Well, I went to the gate to let Snickers in and saw that he was all wet. I said, I see that you have been swimming, Snickers. He came in and I told my daughter to go look for her dog and start at the lake. She went down to the lake and I saw her coming back with a big black dog in tow. Sure enough, he was all wet too. Guess the labs decided they wanted to go for a swim. When Erica found Magnum, though, he was eating a dead fish! Yuck! He knew he had been naughty, too, because when he saw Erica, he came to her with his head and tail down. Bad dogs!! My husband tried to strengthen the gate where we think they may have gotten out.

LOL! Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? It sounds like Snickers is a pretty good teacher!
