I would not get upset if I did not receive any gifts or cards. But I would get very sad if people close to me did not tell me happy birthday at all. I would feel like I was not important enough to them for tehm to remember my birthday. Just a simple greeting, sms or a hug would do.

yes, of course. It would really really hurt because it means that the person you love, doesn't care about you and that it's only one-sided kind of love. No matter what the excuse is, he/she must remember your birthday for it's when you'll realize you are loved.

Oh yes! Who would't get hurt if it is your own mother that did not remember it's your birthday? Though it happened years ago still the pain remains especially everytime my birthday arrive. Even if she already wished me the years after, I still can't forget
