College: I wish I knew...

Before I actually went to my university, I was bombarded with information about things from classes, to student life, to jobs, to safety. Despite all this info given to me before hand, I still found that there were things that I didn't expect. Did you find yourself wishing that someone told you about a college-related topic before you got there? Share it with us here. Are you getting ready for college and want to know something that you haven't found out yet? Here's the place to ask. Let's here it.

In my school, the students are encouraged or rather coerced to do everything by themselves; from enlistment, registration, enrollment and what not. I'd be lucky if I go to an enlistment room and find only 4-8 people waiting in line for a course/subject because most of the time there are more than 20 people in the room that when I finally get in front of the line the slots are amost always full. Also my teachers back in high school were all friendly and accomodating. Now most of my college professors are terror and I'd be blessed if I get a .5 higher than the passing grade. The workload in highschool does not come close to the workloads in college. Presentations, project, thesis, to mention just a few. Nothing prepared me for this but I'm glad I still manage to survive college.... so far! haha:D

When I started college I really had no idea what to expect, because I didn't visit any colleges except the one I applied to, I only went to one orientation, and only really talked to one guy before I started. I guess that was kind of a dumb idea on my part, but I adjusted and started to feel at home after just a few weeks. I made friends rather quickly too, which surprised me. I'm VERY happy I made the sudden decision to just apply to college without thinking about it, though, because my college is where I've met my very best friend! I love him sooo much, it was meant to be ^_^

In here this isn't a big change to the environment its all same just the change of campus, teachers and perhaps fellow students else there aren't many big regulations regarding the way of studies or anything else so i guess not too much thinking or information needed in here before joining a college or university for the very first time.
