The other day I watched a TV program about a girl suffering from a terminal disease. She had to depend on her mother for everything. But now her mother was old and the girl wished that she could have euthanasia after her mother passed away. But euthanasia is not allowed at present in China. Is it allowed in your country? Are you for or against euthanasia?

i am for it but some conditions need to be in place before executing it. 1. The person must be suffering from a disease which is incurable or in such a stage where the cure is not available. The patient has great physical suffering and there are no chances of recovery, as certified by a qualified medical professional. 2. The request "must" come from the suffering patient and no one other than the patient. Not even from his close relative/friend. If these two conditions are met, then I think it is a good point to execute euthanasia.

I am against euthanasia. Euthanasia is a rejection of the importance and value of human life. People who support euthanasia often say that it is already considered permissable to take human life under some circumstances such as self defense - but they miss the point that when one kills for self defense they are saving innocent life - either their own or someone else's. With euthanasia no one's life is being saved - life is only taken. History has taught us the dangers of euthanasia and that is why there are only two countries in the world today where it is legal. That is why almost all societies - even non-religious ones - for thousands of years have made euthanasia a crime. It is remarkable that euthanasia advocates today think they know better than the billions of people throughout history who have outlawed euthanasia.
